Green Careers – Sustainable Development Program
This program supports youth and adults in discovering, training for, and exploring careers linked to the energy transition, including solar installation, ecological insulation, energy efficiency, green construction, and waste management. It is an inclusive initiative combining practical knowledge, civic engagement, and future-oriented opportunities.
In 2025, AGORA ECO launched the Green Careers – Sustainable Development project, an ambitious initiative designed to prepare Francophone youth and newcomers for the professional opportunities created by the ecological transition. Structured in three complementary phases, the program offers a comprehensive pathway from environmental awareness to workforce integration.
Phase 1 – Awareness and Thematic Workshops (ongoing)
This phase strengthens participants’ knowledge of contemporary climate challenges and emerging green careers.
Since its launch, 30 participants have taken part in workshops addressing:
- current environmental issues;
- in-demand green careers in the Ottawa region;
- required skills to enter the sector;
- employment opportunities linked to the ecological transition.
Phase 2 – Practical Training in Green Careers
This phase will provide hands-on technical training in areas such as:
- solar panel installation;
- green construction;
- waste management;
- energy efficiency technologies. Training sessions will be delivered by qualified professionals and will allow participants to develop concrete, job-ready skills.
Phase 3 – Career Guidance and Workforce Integration
The final phase supports participants’ transition into employment through:
- current environmental issues;
- in-demand green careers in the Ottawa region;
- required skills to enter the sector;
- employment opportunities linked to the ecological transition.
Eco-Resolution Campaign
An inspiring civic initiative that encourages community members to adopt a “green resolution” each year to reduce their ecological footprint, such as composting, sustainable mobility, plastic reduction, recycling, and energy conservation.
This campaign mobilizes schools, families, institutions, and businesses around collective challenges and concrete commitments.
Eco-Responsible Program
A series of campaigns aimed at raising awareness about daily actions that protect the environment and improve quality of life, including waste management, sustainable consumption, resource conservation, and the circular economy.
We work with youth, newcomers, families, and local organizations to foster sustainable behaviours within Canada’s Francophone community.
